Art, 1964 -1969 - Latvian Academy of Art (Diploma Work "At
Repose" supervised by Prof. Ed. Kalniņš. Further studies
at the St. Petersburg Academy of Art.
Pedagogical activities
: Professor, Head of Visual Art Studies, Head of the workshop
at the Art Academy of Latvia, Painting Department.
1970 - 1979 - Teacher of professional subjects at the J. Rozentāls
Riga Secondary School of Art.
In 1977, starts work as senior lecturer at the Art Academy of
Latvia.
Creative activities:
since 1968 participates in exhibitions.
1970 - 1975 - member of the Young Artists' Association of the
Latvian Artists' Union.
Since 1975, member of the Latvian Artists' Union.
1993 - 1998- member of the International Artists' Association

In painting works with in oil. Paints still-life, landscape. Has
painted figural compositions, portraits. Has worked in monumental
painting and made stained glasses. During last decade the principal
theme of the artists' creative work - landscape. In his works,
the artist pays attention to hued tones of colours, texture and
values of colours
Works in collections: his
works are to be found in the State Art Museum of Latvia, collection
of the Fund of the Latvian Artists' Union, funds and private collections
of the museums in Moscow (Russia), Kiev, Sozopol (Bulgaria). The
paintings were exhibited in Latvia, Estonia, Russia (Moscow, St.
Petersburg), Germany, England, Bulgaria, Greece, Holland, Norway,
Sweden, USA, India, Japan and other places.
