ANITA MELDERE

Born in 1949. Professional training: Janis Rozentals Art School of Riga (1960 - 1967), Painting Department at the Latvian Academy of Arts (1967 - 1973) under the supervision of professor E. Kalnins. Master of Fine Arts.
Contributor to exhibitions since 1972. A member of the Artists' Union of Latvia as of 1973. A member of the B - 13 Association (1993 - 1998) since 1993.
Personal exhibitions in Riga in 1985, Vilnius in 1986, Jurmala in 1988, Toronto in1990, Riga in1993 and 1994, Provinciemuseum Van Humbeek-Piron, Leuven, Belgium, "Inter Art Gallery Reich",Cologne,Germany,1995, in "Riga Gallery", Riga, Latvia,1996, Germany, in "Ciris" Gallery, Riga, Latvia in1997.
Group exhibitions in Riga, Moscow, St. Petersburg, Vilnius, France, the United States, Germany, and Japan.
Her works are to be found in the State Art Museum and Artists' Union of Latvia, Ministry of Culture of Russia, Russian Art Fund, as well as in many private collections in Latvia and abroad.
Certificate of Merit at the exhibition of young artists in Moscow (1976) and bronze medal at the international exhibition "Sports in Art" (1973).
