AIJA BAUMANE

Born in 1943. Professional training: the Applied Arts School of Riga (1956-1961), Textile Department of the Latvian Academy of Arts (1961 - 1967) under the supervision of Professor R. Heimrats.
Regular participant of exhibitions since 1963. A member of the Artists' Union of Latvia as of 1969. A member of the B - 13 Association (1993 - 1998) since 1993. She has had several personal exhibitions in Latvia and abroad and has participated in group exhibitions in Riga, Moscow, Vilnius, Tallinn, Hungary, Czechoslovakia, Germany, YugosIavia, Poland, Great Britain, Switzerland, Sweden, Belgium. and elsewhere.
At present she is professor at the Latvian Academy of Arts, and since 1992 has been running her own Master Workshop.
